Despite the heat, the summer clothes have to go, space is being made in the warehouses for the autumn and winter collections. The reduced prices, highlighted in red, tempt you to put one or the other piece in your shopping basket that would otherwise not have made it into your own wardrobe. On average, every Austrian buys 50 to 60 new items of clothing per year. Every eighth of them hangs in the closet unworn – and often ends up in the trash right away.
