How the Increase in Electricity Prices Will Affect French Households on February 1st – Minister of Economy’s Announcement on TF1

Alex Reed of 8 p.m. on TF1, the Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire, indicated that electricity prices “on peak and off-peak rates” would increase by 9.8% on February 1. An increase reduced to 8.6% for basic rates.

The Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire announced on Sunday that the electricity bill would increase on February 1 between 8.6% and 9.8% depending on the contracts. “The electricity bill on peak/off-peak rates will increase by 9.8% on February 1 and on basic rates by 8.6%. That is to say, for 97% of French households the increase will be less than 10%”, he declared on the set of the 8 p.m. news on TF1.
