Market analysts believe that, despite the low productivity, the SMIC’s N+1 chipset is equivalent to a 7nm SoC from TSMC or Samsung.
The forecast is that this union with Huawei should make the company produce regarding 2 to 4 million units of 5G chips within a first batch.
Companies have also been working so that this production capacity can be expanded to up to 10 million units before the first quarter of 2024.
