A woman is suing professional wrestler Hulk Hogan and his beer company,Real American Beer, after being struck by a thrown beer can at a promotional event last summer. The incident occurred on August 19, 2024, at Thirsty Cowboys in Medina, Ohio.
A Night Out Turns Traumatic
Fifty-year-old Michelle Harlukowicz attended the event hoping for an enjoyable evening with the wrestling legend. Rather, she sustained a serious head injury when a beer can, allegedly thrown by Hogan or one of the event promoters, struck her forehead.
“It was pretty big. She ended up needing a number of stitches to her head, and she’s going to have some permanent scarring from that,”
said Harlukowicz’s attorney, highlighting the lasting impact of the injury.
Negligence Allegations
Harlukowicz filed a lawsuit on February 10,2025,alleging negligence on the part of Hogan,Real American Beer, and the venue,Thirsty Cowboys. The suit claims that the event promoters, including Hogan, were encouraging the crowd and throwing free beer cans, creating an unsafe environment. The lawsuit states that the can was thrown an estimated 50 feet, leading to Harlukowicz’s injury.
The attorney added, “It’s unconscionable to think that you’re going to go to a bar to see a celebrity and end up being pelted with it with a can of beer.”
A Gap in Accountability
Medina Police investigated the incident but were unable to determine who threw the beer can, resulting in no charges being filed. This lack of accountability further compounds the harm suffered by Harlukowicz, who is now seeking damages for medical expenses, pain and suffering, and emotional distress.
Holding All Parties Accountable
The lawsuit not only targets Hogan and Real American Beer but also names Thirsty Cowboys and its owner Aaron Lind. The suit argues that the venue was responsible for booking the promoters and ensuring the safety of its guests.
this case highlights the importance of safety and obligation at public events. When celebrities and businesses engage in activities that coudl potentially lead to harm, they must be held accountable for the consequences of their actions.
Harlukowicz’s legal pursuit aims to ensure justice and prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. It serves as a reminder that even in seemingly lighthearted settings, negligence can have serious and lasting repercussions.
Given the allegations, what evidence is Ms. jenkins’ team presenting to demonstrate that Hulk Hogan or someone connected to real American Beer directly contributed to the dangerous environment?
Interview with Attorney Sarah Jenkins Regarding Hulk Hogan Fan Injury Lawsuit
Michelle Harlukowicz suffered a serious head injury after being struck by a thrown beer can at a Hulk Hogan promotional event last summer. Attorney Sarah Jenkins, representing Ms. Harlukowicz, joined us to discuss the lawsuit filed against Hogan, his beer company, Real American Beer, and the event venue, Thirsty Cowboys.
Taking a Stand Against Negligence
Archyde: Ms. jenkins, can you tell us about the incident and what led your client, Michelle Harlukowicz, to take legal action?
sarah Jenkins: It was a night that started out like any other for Ms. harlukowicz. She was excited to attend an event with Hulk Hogan, someone she greatly admired. tragically, instead of a pleasant evening, she ended up with a serious head injury. A beer can, allegedly thrown by Mr. Hogan or one of the event promoters, struck her forcefully, requiring multiple stitches and causing permanent scarring.
archyde: What are the key allegations in the lawsuit?
Sarah Jenkins: The lawsuit alleges negligence on the part of several parties involved. We believe mr. Hogan and Real American Beer, through their involvement in the promotional event, created an atmosphere of chaos and encouraged risky behavior. Throwing free beer cans into a crowd of peopel is inherently reckless. While the police couldn’t determine who threw the can, the responsibility for the safety and well-being of attendees lies with the organizers and participants of the event.
Holding Everyone Accountable
Archyde: Why is it meaningful to include Thirsty Cowboys, the venue, in this lawsuit?
Sarah Jenkins: The venue has a responsibility to ensure the safety of its patrons. They were aware of the nature of the event and the potential for such incidents. By allowing promotional activities that created a hazardous environment, we believe they contributed to Ms. Harlukowicz’s injuries.
Archyde: What outcome are you hoping to achieve with this lawsuit?
Sarah Jenkins: Beyond securing compensation for Ms. Harlukowicz’s medical expenses, pain and suffering, and emotional distress, we aim to send a clear message: that celebrities and businesses cannot shirk responsibility for their actions, especially when those actions put others at risk. We hope this case acts as a deterrent to reckless behavior at public events and sets a precedent for holding all parties accountable for ensuring the safety and well-being of attendees.
Archyde: This case highlights the potential dangers of overenthusiasm at celebrity events. What advice would you give to fans attending similar gatherings in the future?
Sarah Jenkins: Remember, your safety comes first. Be aware of your surroundings, avoid areas where objects are being thrown, and don’t hesitate to remove yourself from a situation that feels unsafe. Speak up if you witness reckless behavior and hold organizers responsible for providing a safe environment for everyone.
