Biden approves emergency declaration in North Carolina
President Joe Biden approved an emergency declaration for North Carolina on Saturdayordering federal assistance to the state due to conditions following Hurricane Ian.
Biden’s declaration authorizes the Federal Emergency Management Agency to coordinate disaster relief efforts in the state’s 100 counties and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.
“Emergency protective measures (Category B), including direct federal assistance, under the Public Assistance program will be provided with 75 percent federal funding”according to a White House statement.
