Dammam: The Transport Authority has given permission for the trial run of hydrogen trains in Saudi Arabia. Use trains designed to suit the Saudi climate and topography.

Saudi Transport General Authority Chairman Rumaih Al Rumaih said that permission has been obtained for the trial run of hydrogen trains in the country. The permission letter was handed over to Saudi Arabian Rail CEO Bashar Almalik. Hydrogen trains are environmentally friendly trains that run entirely on hydrogen and have zero carbon emissions. The chairman of the authority said that the train service will be an important step forward for Saudi Railways. Trains designed to suit the Saudi climate and topography will be used for this purpose. Saudi Arabia is developing various projects with the aim of halving carbon emissions by 2030.
