“I saw him naked in his garden”: Pascal Obispo’s revelations about Johnny Hallyday’s sulphurous past

The docuseries devoted to the life of Johnny Hallyday was released on Tuesday March 29 on the Netflix platform. We discover archive images, moments of his life and career but also interviews. And the least we can say is that the French rock legend has sometimes had a somewhat sulphurous past. Pascal Obispo made some chilling secrets.

It was this Tuesday March 29 that the docu-series devoted to the life and career of Johnny Hallyday was released on the Netflix platform. This mini-film is also an opportunity to learn more regarding the – sometimes sulphurous – past of the legend of French rock. He had also admitted himself, in 2012, that he was not always easy to live with for those close to him. “I’ve tried everything in my life, it’s true. But I know how to stop when necessary (…) Out of respect for me, for the people who love me, my family and my children and then because that I just don’t want to die”he told Rock & Folk.

In the docuseries, some revelations were made regarding the singer. It was Pascal Obispo who opened up regarding the one he was relatively close to… And the least we can say is that his revelations are chilling: “I saw him drink… At first, it’s funny. And, at some point, if he takes a second bottle, then it becomes aggressive. I saw him drunk, I saw him naked in his garden with a gun to his head. I saw him on his knees in front of me crying… It was hard”he says in the documentary Johnny by Johnny.

But that’s not all. Pascal Obispo also remembers a few car trips, which sometimes failed to turn into drama: “One day, we were both in the car. He was a little… He wanted to drive. I said to him, ‘No, you’re not driving’. And while we were driving, he passed his foot the other side to press the pedal so that I go faster. Saying to myself: ‘I’m crazier than the others’. I said to him: ‘You’re crazy but I want to stay alive. So you take your foot off'”confided the interpreter of Goodbye Marylou.
