Brandon Nimmo‘s Class Inspires Icelanders‘ New Recruit, Schaefer

new York – The Icelanders organization has made a lasting impression on recent draft pick, Schaefer, thanks to the exemplary conduct of veteran player Brandon Nimmo. Schaefer expressed profound gratitude for the welcoming atmosphere and the team’s gesture of support.

Schaefer recounted nimmo’s exceptional character, stating, “It was unusual. Brandon Nimmo has so much class, and he is a good person.” He emphasized the meaning of the organization’s support, adding, “That the organization has done it means a lot for me. I think the food has become my favorite team now.”

The Icelanders demonstrated their commitment to Schaefer by embroidering a ribbon featuring the image of a hockey initiative dedicated to defeating cancer onto his jersey when he first donned the team sweater at the draft. This thoughtful gesture resonated deeply with the young player.

Schaefer, who previously wore number 71, will now sport number 48 for the Icelanders. He acknowledged the need to earn his place on the team, stating, “I had to work to have my number and make my place in the team, and I must do it again.”

He continued, “I had the number, but I still have to work to have a place in the team. As I said, there is still a lot of work, and I have to put on my work boots.” Schaefer expressed his eagerness to compete for a roster spot this fall, with the Icelanders set to begin their 2025-26 season against the Pittsburgh Penguins on October 9.
