Amalia Pulido, President Counselor of the Electoral Institute of the State of Mexico (IEEM), declared this Sunday, at the start of election day, that “there is tranquility” in the state so that the more than 12.6 million Mexicans go out to vote in the most of 20,433 ballot boxes arranged for this exercise.

“There is calm and throughout the day the details of the electoral day will be given,” he said in a brief interview, following the civic flag-raising ceremony on the esplanade of the Mexican Institute.

In several municipalities of Coahuila, polling stations have already been installed before 8:00 a.m.

“In the border area we have a differentiated schedule with one more hour to the capital and at the moment we have 327 polling stations already installed in 11 municipalities,” said the counselor Madeleyne Ivett Figueroa Gámez at a press conference.
