This Wednesday in the Encuentro interview with Julio Villagrán, the member of the FMLN Political Commission, Lourdes Argueta, indicated that although the Front is part of a broad spectrum of the opposition, her party has its own agenda, for which must act in accordance with their statutes, defending the identity of the party at all times.
“We have our own agenda as FMLN, we do not follow other parties,” said the politician. For Argueta, the FMLN must remain firm in its role as a left-wing party in the country, and maintain a shared vision on the transformation into well-being of society.
He stated that the front does not depend on the agenda of other opposition parties, but that its allies are the people who are in the territories, and who continue to be the social, productive and popular forces. In addition, he pointed out that it was necessary to update the forms of struggle.
Regarding the issue of the results of the legislative elections, Argueta indicated that the FMLN is not conditioned to institutional power and that it does not depend on whether or not it has deputies in the Legislative Assembly.
“The FMLN is not determined by a condition of institutional power, the FMLN surpasses that, it is superior in its thinking, vision and commitment, it cannot be assured that because we do not have a deputy they have already finished with the Front”: he expressed.
For politics, the existence of the Front is not compromised by an electoral result, since the validity of the party must be materialized through dialogue and rapprochement with all territories.
“If anyone assumes that this party has already ceased to exist, they are wrong, the FMLN is not only determined by a historical leadership, we also have generational diversity,” Argueta concluded.
