If the annual financial statements are not ready on time – Blog: Shareholder dispute

For most limited liability companies (GmbHs), December 31st is the reporting date for the annual financial statements. According to the law, corporations must prepare their annual financial statements for the previous financial year in the first five months of the following financial year. Normally this is May 31st of the following year. By this point, the managing directors of a GmbH must send each shareholder a copy including the appendix and, if necessary, the management report. If there is a supervisory board, it must also receive a copy.
