“Ignatz” ensures the first storm situation in autumn

EExtremely warm, then stormy – the German Weather Service (DWD) is expecting this mix of weather in the coming days. Especially in the south, very mild weather is to be expected on Wednesday. Low “Ignatz”, which then already ensures wind force seven in the north, should also bring the first autumn storm with it, according to the DWD meteorologists on Tuesday.

Initially, however, the wind ensures the supply of subtropical air with temperatures of more than 20 degrees in southern and central Germany. In the Alps, a summer day with temperatures of 25 degrees is still possible locally. However, rain clouds the overall picture.

During the Thursday night and on Thursday itself, “Ignatz” could then cause severe gusts of wind, and isolated gale-force gusts cannot be ruled out. The so-called main wind field reaches the west of Germany in the second half of the night on Thursday and, according to the forecast, will spread to the center and southwest of Germany by Thursday morning.

In the morning hours of Thursday the storm hits the east and southeast of the country, in the afternoon the north. The maximum temperatures are then only 12 to 16 degrees, in the south-east there are still occasional maximum values ​​of 18 degrees possible.
