“II Andean Meeting of Physiotherapists in Mérida: An Academic Success and Organizational Triumph”

The Board of Directors of the College of Physiotherapists described the II Andean Meeting of Physiotherapists held at the College of Physicians of the city of Mérida as a complete success.

“A success due to the participation of more than 250 Physiotherapists and Physiotherapy students, an academic success and an organizational success was this proposal made within the framework of the fight that we support in favor of the legal exercise of our profession and once morest intrusion”said Dannis Vivas, president of the union that brings together Physiotherapists in the State of Mérida.

An academic agenda in favor of continuing to improve the practice of the profession

On Friday, May 19 and Saturday, May 20, the agenda of this II Andean Meeting of Physiotherapists in Mérida was developed, which discussed, among other topics, the duty to regulate, respect and defend Physiotherapytopic that was in charge of Attorney Dannis Vivas; Ethics and legal limitations within the exercise of the professiondictated by Lawyer Fabián Ramírez; I graduated! And now that?by Ms. Danuska Morales; Role of Physiotherapy in the 21st centuryby Mr. Jaime Noguera; Role of Physiotherapy in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation service: Physiotherapy Unitby Physiotherapist Manoly Yópez; Digital Physiotherapy as a means of health promotion, in charge of the Physiotherapist Isabel Pirona; Dermatofunctional Physiotherapy: The aesthetic face of Physiotherapyby the Physiotherapist María Alejandra Prieto; Physiotherapy and breast cancerby the Physiotherapist Ipsy Rivero; Topical management of musculoskeletal and neuropathic painby Doctor Javier Cordero and Doctor Karina Carrero; Upgrading of high-tech physical agents BTL, by Attorney Kenia Santana; and, to culminate the day on Friday, May 19, the topic was debated HIL II High Intensity Laser (Practical Theoretical for Physicians and Physiotherapists), by Graduate Kenia Santana.

Saturday, May 20, was the second and last day of this II Andean Meeting of Physiotherapists in Mérida and the following topics were discussed: Medek Caves Exercises. A therapeutic experience in neuropediatricsby the Physiotherapist Natalia Lara; Occupational therapy in the field of early interventiondictated by Ms. Indira Díaz; Physical therapy vs. crossfitby Mr. Lenin Toro; Physical Therapist Challenge: Time vs. Quality in footballby Attorney Kevi Oropeza; Exercises and strategies to be more effective in the diagnosis and treatment of physiotherapy under a differential diagnosis criteriaby Mr. Jaime Noguera; Conversation: Training of elite athletes, role of the physical trainer and role of the Physiotherapist in sports performanceby Mr. Jaime Noguera and Mr. Froilán Bonilla; and, Team and health in our hands. Lead and motivateby Coach Pedro Hernández.

It was, therefore, an academic experience constituted, according to what Vivas pointed out, by different dynamics that made it possible to meet the objective of the Meeting held this weekend in the city of Mérida.

Finally, Vivas thanked the companies and public and private entities that allowed this proposal to be carried out within the framework of “A look at the legal practice of the profession”.
