HUNTSVILLE, AL – North Alabama residents will soon have a new destination for affordable home furnishings as IKEA prepares to open its first store in the state this Wednesday, February 25th. The highly anticipated opening in Huntsville marks a significant expansion for the global retailer, bringing its signature Scandinavian design and shopping experience to the region.

The 46,000-square-foot store, located at 6125 University Place Drive, will offer over 5,000 products, with more than 2,000 available for immediate takeaway. IKEA’s arrival represents a $2.2 billion investment by IKEA U.S. Aimed at increasing accessibility and strengthening its retail and online presence across the country, according to the company. The Huntsville location is designed to inspire customers with fully furnished room settings and provide innovative, affordable solutions for everyday living.

Grand Opening Festivities Planned

Festivities are scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. On Wednesday, with customers invited to line up as early as 7 a.m. IKEA plans to reward early birds with gift cards and IKEA products, while the first 100 children in line will receive complimentary soft toys. What to Expect Inside IKEA Huntsville

Beyond the extensive product selection, the Huntsville store will feature a central planning area for personalized design consultations, allowing customers to create customized solutions for their homes. An “As-Is” department will offer discounted and sustainable furnishing options, appealing to budget-conscious and environmentally aware shoppers. And, of course, no IKEA experience is complete without the Swedish food market, offering beloved favorites like meatballs, plant balls, hot dogs, and veggie dogs for both in-store enjoyment and takeaway.

Regular store hours will be 11 a.m. To 7 p.m. Daily.
