Illegality in most of the tourist buses; 67 cases today, 87,000 rupees fine- Tourist Bus Checking Operation Focus Three | Road Accident MVD

Kochi ∙ The Motor Vehicle Department says that most of the tourist buses in the state are violating the law. 63 cases have been registered so far in the inspection conducted by the Motor Vehicle Department in various parts on Saturday. A fine of Rs 87,000 was levied in Operation Focus Three.

Irregularities such as illegal modification, speed governor manipulation, illegal installation of horn, light, music system etc. were found in most of the buses. Inspections were conducted in various parts of the state including Kozhikode Thamarasery, Thiruvananthapuram Museum Junction and Idukki.

Most of the inspected vehicles were illegally fitted with horn and lights. Vehicles caught violating the law for the first time will only have to pay a fine. The inspection will continue in the coming days. Night inspection will also be tightened. The motor vehicle department had taken action once morest 134 buses in the wake of the Vadakancheri accident.
