The manufacturers involved and their respective settlement figures and durations are Mylan (now part of Viatris) at $284,447,916 over nine years, and Hikma at $95,818,293 over one to four years.

Additionally, Amneal will pay $71,751,010 over 10 years, Apotex will pay $63,682,369 over one year, and Indivior will pay $38,022,450 over four years.

Further settlements include SUN at $30,992,087 over one to four years, Alvogen at $18,680,162 over one year, and Zydus at $14,859,220 over a single year.

Under these agreements, seven of these companies are prohibited from actively promoting opioid products.They are also restricted from manufacturing or selling products containing more than 40 mg of oxycodone per pill,and must monitor and report suspicious orders.

Indivior, based in Virginia, has agreed not to manufacture or sell any opioid products whatsoever for the next decade. However,it remains permitted to market and sell medications specifically designed for the treatment of opioid use disorder.

In addition to monetary payments, states may also have the option to receive free pharmaceutical products or opt for cash compensation instead of product deliveries.

To date, Illinois has secured approximately $1.4 billion from nationwide settlements, stemming from investigations and litigation against pharmaceutical companies concerning opioid-related issues, according to Raoul’s office.
