IMF projects growth of 3.8% for Paraguay in 2024, the highest in the Southern Cone

Asunción, IP Agency.- The International Monetary Fund (IMF) released its “World Economic Outlook” report for the year 2024 where, in the Southern Cone region, Paraguay leads the projections with a growth of 3.8%.

Both Paraguay and Uruguay are above the projected three percent with 3.8 and 3.7% respectively. In South America, Venezuela has the highest growth expectation with 4%.

Neighboring countries, Brazil, Argentina and Bolivia, have projections of -2.8 percent, 2.2 percent and 1.6 percent respectively.

Projections for 2025 maintain 3.8% growth in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for Paraguay, while Argentina would have a growth of 5% following the negative indicators for this year.

The Monetary Fund report agrees with the projections of the Economic Commission for Latin America (ECLAC), where Paraguay maintains 3.8% and Venezuela will lead the region with an estimated growth of 4%.
