Immunology offers an important area for the development and research of medicine

“Immunology is present in practically all human processes; It has to do with all areas of medicine, so its importance is really notable,” said Dr. Adriana Elizabeth Monsiváis Urenda, a researcher at the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí.

He explained that immunology has an impact on all kinds of infectious, chronic, degenerative diseases, cancer and currently also on transplants, hence the importance of his study.

He pointed out that there are enough immunologists in the country, although perhaps not in our city, “in the Faculty of Medicine we are only four immunologists. So I believe that there are, but the field is so vast that there are many areas of opportunity, since there are many areas of research for everyone”.

Regarding the invitation to participate in the Vanguard Medicine Symposium, Dr. Monsiváis Urenda, considered it a great honor to be able to present to health professionals and researchers, graduates of the Faculty, “it is an honor for me as a graduate from the UASLP School of Medicine, as a woman and researcher, to be able to talk regarding what I am passionate regarding, which is immunology”.

Dr. Adriana Elizabeth Monsiváis Urenda, is a professor and researcher at the Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí, and currently heads the Department of Immunology. In the same way, she is the general secretary of the Center for Research in Health Sciences and Biomedicine (CICSAB).
