Chad is one of the largest livestock farming countries in Africa. With a herd estimated at more than 140 million head, livestock farming is the country’s second resource following oil and occupies a large part of the rural population. But this potential is very poorly exploited. Apart from the export of live cattle, other derived products are struggling to establish themselves.
