He added: “The Central Bank’s initiative is optional for banks, but there is a moral and societal commitment on the part of the banking sector to help ease the burden on customers and help fully recover from the effects of the damage caused by the crisis. rains”, emphasizing that the six-month deferral period is the maximum allowed in the Central Bank’s decision, but it is not anticipated that clients will have to defer this period, which means that the bank’s management will inevitably take takes into account a balance. between the interests of the customers concerned and the interests of shareholders and depositors.

He continued: “Since the issuance of the (Central Bank) circular, there has been a strong demand from customers to contact customer service centers, inquire regarding the postponement and submit requests, but the full picture of demand will become clear in the coming days,” indicating that it is expected that the deferral will include the current month’s installments in accordance with each customer’s request.

He said unaffected customers also have a moral obligation not to attempt to misuse the Central Bank’s circular and value the banks’ interests, as long as there is no reason to defer their payments and that they are not exposed to harm.
