In Kuwait, the renewal of employment records of expatriates has been stopped. The decision is a part of the ongoing inspections to resolve the imbalance in the country’s native-foreigner population and regulate the labor market.
The Manpower Committee authorities have temporarily stopped the renewal of the work permit document. Records of those working in finance, banking, accounting and other fields cannot be renewed.
The authorities are taking drastic action following finding discrepancies between the validity of academic certificates of many expatriates and the status held under the work permit document.
