LUXEMBOURG – The Grand Ducal police carried out a large-scale alcohol control operation last night.
The Luxembourg police carried out nearly 250 blood alcohol checks overnight from Friday to Saturday, at the request of the State Prosecutor, she announced. Near the Belgian border, near Steinfort, nearly 150 motorists were tested. Five checks were positive.
At the same time, in the north of the country, more than 100 checks were carried out in Troisverges and Weiswampach, three of which turned out to be positive. Two driving licenses were withdrawn on the spot. In addition, during the night, five driving licenses were withdrawn as part of traditional checks, in Luxembourg, Esch/Alzette, Junglinster, Lentzweiler and Troisvierges.
