In Morocco, social tension is rising in the face of galloping inflation

While Morocco has been hit hard by very high inflation since the start of the war in Ukraine, to which is added the Covid-19 pandemic and the drought, rallies were held this weekend in nearly fifty cities across the country, in the middle of Ramadan, at the call of a coalition of left-wing parties. Faced with a 20% spike in food prices, protesters are calling on the government to take emergency measures.
