IN PICTURES – Cardinal François Bustillo celebrated Palm Sunday in Bastia

Like every year, for Palm Sunday, the Saint Jean Baptiste church in Bastia was the site of one of the most beautiful liturgies of the year which commemorates the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, a few days before the people ultimately turns once morest him. Several hundred faithful gathered mid-morning in front of the oratory of the Immaculate Conception, rue Napoléon, on the occasion of Palm Sunday. Like every year, this liturgical event marks the start of Holy Week, a crucial period in the Christian calendar. The crucette makers were already hard at work, offering everyone present the opportunity to obtain one. Around 10:30 a.m., the crowd joyfully waved olive branches and crucifixes fervently awaiting the blessing of Cardinal Bustillo, who presided over the ceremony.
