In retail, strikes threaten in the middle of the Advent season – companies

Vienna – After the railway workers’ strike, there is also a threat of industrial action in retail in the middle of the Advent season. The fifth round of negotiations for a new collective agreement decides whether there will be warning strikes or not. The social partners have been negotiating in the Chamber of Commerce since 11 a.m. As a precaution, however, the union has obtained permission to strike from the ÖGB. If no agreement can be reached today, the commercial employees will stop working on Friday and Saturday.
