In Sri Lanka, ministerial houses were vandalized by mobs

In Sri Lanka, mobs smashed ministers’ houses. Protesters surrounded the institutions and houses of ministers and MPs. Former minister Roshan Ranasinghe’s house was vandalized by a mob. The government is under a lot of pressure as the youth have come to the forefront of the anti-government agitation. Youths took to the streets of the country yesterday for anti-government protests. The youths reached the freedom struggle memorial by breaking the strict restrictions.

The protest focused on the need to completely change the existing system in the country. The government has come under intense pressure to replace the ministers as protests intensify. Twenty-six ministers have resigned, except for President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and his brother, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
