On February 14, in the Kherson region, employees of the State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations rescued a 12-year-old child who fell through the ice. About it reports press service of the regional branch of the State Emergencies Service on Facebook.
On the afternoon of February 14 in Skadovsk, a man called the service number “101” and said that a child had fallen under the ice on the central beach of the city.
The duty unit arrived at the scene a few minutes later. One of the rescuers, having reached the teenager, tied him with a rope, while others began to pull him out of the icy water. Rescuers pulled the boy to the shore and immediately transferred him to an ambulance.
It turned out that the child and his parents were walking along the central embankment of the city. The boy ran 100 meters from the shore, where the ice was too thin, and fell into the icy water.
The victim was taken to the children’s department of the Skadovsk hospital. The doctors said that he was in a satisfactory condition.
Lifeguards recommend not going out on the ice unnecessarily, especially alone, and give advice on what to do if you fall into an ice trap.
