INAI opened an investigation against AMLO for revealing private information about Loret de Mola

The National Institute of Transparency, Access to Information and Protection of Personal Data (INAI) opened on April 21 a ex officio investigation once morest the president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador for violations of the General Law on Protection of Personal Data in Possession of Subjects Obliged to the reveal information regarding the journalist Carlos Loret de Mola during his morning conference.

The transparency unit of the office of the Presidency of the Republic was notified of the initiation of the investigation by the Secretary for the Protection of Personal Data.

“I inform you that an agreement was issued on April 21, 2022, through which the aforementioned public sector preliminary investigation file was initiated ex officio, as well as compliance with the fifth point of said agreement, you are notified for the purposes legal to take place”, reads the document.

César Manuel Vallarta Paredes, general director of Evaluation, Investigation and Verification of the Public Sector, informed him that the file related to the investigation is at his disposal for consultation at the offices of lNAI.

The investigation is carried out following the President Lopez Obrador will show, last Thursday, April 7, in his morning conference, the invoice of a property of the journalist Carlos Loret de Molain which personal data of the communicator was displayed.

The right to protection of personal data is regulated by the General Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Obligated Subjects, which determines how this information must be treated by government agencies or public officials.

Since February of this year, President López Obrador exhibited in his morning conference the alleged income and personal data of Loret de Mola and even asked the INAI to reveal the journalist’s personal information.

The foregoing, following what was published on January 27 by Latinus and Mexicans Against Corruption and Impunity (MCCI), where it was revealed that Jose Ramon Lopez Beltranson of the president, lived in recent years in two mansions in Houston, Texas, each with a value of almost a million dollars.

The first of those houses belonged to Keith L. Schilling, who at the time was a senior executive at Baker Hughes, a company with current contracts with the government of López Obrador for more than 151 million dollars in works for Pemex and that, in addition, today sells compressors and turbines for the new refinery of Two Mouths.

In response to the president’s attacks, the journalist Loret de Mola reported that the information provided by the President Lopez Obrador in his lecture is false.

“Today López Obrador comes out with the fact that I have an apartment in Miami that is worth 5 million dollars! I’m selling it right now for $5 million. It will be the business of my life. And he can give it to one of his children. The president no longer knows what to invent to attack me, ”the journalist wrote through his Twitter account.
