The development is located on the site of an old large multisport area, including tennis and basketball courts that are now disused. The land has been fully designed, thus creating a 3,000 m² public garden.
Completely open to the public, this garden consists of several distinct spaces: the green theater, fitted with two stone platforms arranged to organize events related to schools or concerts; A space dedicated to the pedestrian and cycle walk, with children’s games; A space of biodiversity, planted with shrubs and trees in cépées, promoting local fauna.
The green theater is made up of two curved stands, with a height of 0.40 m between each seat, and the space between them is covered with grass. These stands have a double function: they serve during representations or, simply, as a place of relaxation outside of events. The second natural space includes pedestrian and cycle paths two meters wide, allowing to go around the site and offering a bicycle circuit for children. At the bottom of the space, taking into account the slope of the land, a retention basin has been set up to collect rainwater and drain the site. “This site bears the name of Auguste Cannac, former mayor and general councilor of the canton of Pampelonne, who was also a companion of Jean Jaurès, commented the mayor Guy Malaterre. The green theater marks the last stage of the hiking circuit” in the footsteps of Jaurès “. During the inauguration, the descendants of Auguste Cannac were present and were able Pampelonne in honor of Auguste Cannac, of which many intimate documents are kept at Espace Jaurès de Pampelonne.
