2023-08-01 04:15:42

The WHO affirmed in the framework of its strategy 2014-2023 that the big bet is “to incorporate into the public health systems the so-called traditional medicines and complementary medicines as a solution to the health problems that the world is experiencing due to the crisis. For the WHO, the set of both medicines includes naturopathy, acupuncture, homeopathy, some manual therapies such as chiropractic, osteopathy and other related techniques, including qigong, tai chi, yoga, thermal medicine and other physical, mental, spiritual therapies and psychophysical“.

In turn, the agency publicly expressed that “traditional medicine, natural therapies, and western medicine can be combined in a harmonious and beneficial way“, and recognized that, for traditional medicine, alternative medicine is essential “to emphasize the quality of life when cure is not possible.”
