India Condemns Canada’s ‘Hate Crime’; MPs of Indian origin with protest – Canada Hate Crime | Manorama Online

New Delhi – India has condemned the vandalism of the board at Sri Bhagwat Geeta Park in Brampton, Canada. The Indian High Commission in Ottawa responded on Twitter saying that the authorities will take strong action once morest the culprits. Last week, the name of the park was changed to Sri Bhagwat Geeta Park in consideration of the contribution made by the Hindu community.

The board on which the name of the park was written was destroyed. Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown announced an investigation into the incident. Brown also tweeted that Peel Police are investigating.

Canada’s Indian origin MP Chandra Arya said that this is a continuation of hate crimes once morest Hindu temples. Brampton East MP Maninder Sidhu also called it a ‘despicable act’ and said such acts of vandalism had ‘no place in this society’.
