Indian community demands construction of temple in Moscow ahead of Modi’s visit – World

Taking advantage of its strong economic position, India has now begun to assert itself in religious matters as well. Earlier this year, a magnificent temple was built in the United Arab Emirates. In Saudi Arabia, Hindus are allowed to perform religious rituals, but they are not allowed to bring idols.

Now a cultural organization of Indians living in Russia has demanded the Russian government to build a magnificent temple in Moscow. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is arriving in Moscow on July 8 to discuss bilateral issues.

The demand to build a temple in Russia is of extraordinary importance because Russia is going to host the “BRICS” summit in October this year. This political and economic union consisting of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa is of extraordinary importance for the economies of the respective countries.

President of The Indian Business Alliance and The Indian Cultural and National Center SITA in Russia, Sammy Kotvani has come up with the agenda of building the first temple in Moscow. He says that India is a big economy and apart from regional affairs, its voice cannot be ignored in global affairs as well. In such a case, it is necessary that his identity should be prominent even in religious matters.
