Kozhikode – Kickstart FC beat Gokulam Kerala in the Indian Women’s Football League. The game between last year’s champions and runners-up ended in a goalless draw. Gokulam is second with 10 points from four games, while Kickstart is third with eight points from five games.
Gokulam squandered one chance following another. While Gokulam dominated the midfield, the forwards might not create many chances. Uganda international Phasalia Ikwaputu brought the game to life as he lifted the ball in front of an open net. Fazalia’s next shot hit the post in the 16th minute.
Kickstart remained defensive. Karishma Purushottam also created a few chances. In the thirtieth minute, Gokulam goalie Payal Basude saved Karishma’s tally shot. Kickstart dominated by the second half.
