Indian Women’s Team Makes History with Victory in World Blind Football Championship

Birmingham: The Indian women’s team started the World Blind Football Championship with a historic victory. This is the first time that the Indian team participating in the World Blind Football Championship defeated Austria by one goal in the first match and registered their first win.

Akshara Rana scored the winning goal for the team. With this, the 12-year-old also holds the record of being the youngest player to score a goal in the Blind Football Championship. India’s next match is once morest Argentina on the 16th.

The championship is a part of the World Games organized under the auspices of the International Blind Sport Association (IBSA).
