Chongqing: India out of men’s football in 19th Asian Games India lost by two wickets once morest Saudi Arabia.

India managed to hold off Saudi Arabia in the first half of the match at the Huanglong Sports Center Stadium in Hangzhou. But the goals scored by Maran in the 52nd and 58th minutes gave Saudi victory. Mohammed Khalil Maran scored a brace for Saudi Arabia.

Maran scored the goal through a header from Mohammad Al Shamad’s ball that was lifted into the box. Maran is also the only player from Al Nasr to play for Saudi.

In the 22nd minute, Saudi player Musab Al Juwair’s shot went past keeper Dheeraj but hit the crossbar. In the 25th minute Dheeraj saved a shot from Maran who received the ball outside the box. Dheeraj also saved a free kick taken by Al Juwair in the 40th minute. The first half saw attacks and counter-attacks by both teams and ended goalless.

But the second half saw Saudi dominance. Two goals in six minutes changed the course of the game.
