India’s Industrial Production Growth Slows to 3.7% in June: NSO Statistics

India’s industrial production growth pace decelerated to 3.7% last June from 5.3% in May, its lowest level in three months, according to data released by India’s National Board. statistics (NSO).

During the first quarter of fiscal year 2023-2024 (April-June 2023), the industrial production index (IPI) recorded a growth of 4.5%, once morest 12.9% for the same period a year earlier, the same source said, adding that in June 2022, the IIP had increased by 12.6%.

In detail, the production of the mining sector increased by 7.6% in June 2023, once morest 7.8% for the same month of 2022. The production of the manufacturing sector, which represents 17% of the Indian economy , increased by 3.1%, following 12.9% a year earlier.

Data from India’s National Bureau of Statistics also show that power sector output rose 4.2 percent, from 16.4 percent a year earlier.
