Industry is recovering in France but remains penalized by the cost of energy

These are encouraging figures for the French economy. Driven by energy, transport and equipment, industrial production recovered last year. It rebounded by 1.1% between the fourth quarter of 2022 and the fourth quarter of 2023, indicated ce Friday INSEE. For the manufacturing industry alone, the increase reached 0.3%.

Last December, industrial production grew by 1.1% over one month following +0.5% in November. The manufacturing industry increased by 1.2% in December, following +0.2%.
