Bali: A 33-year-old man died following a barbell weighing 210 kg fell on his body in an accident during exercise. Justin Vicky, a prominent fitness influencer on social media, has died. During a squat while lifting a barbell, it unexpectedly fell on his body and broke his neck.
Channel News Asia reported that the accident happened on July 15 in Bali, Indonesia. The video footage of this is circulating on social media. He was unable to stand upright while squatting with a barbell on his shoulders. While trying to balance the weight, he would fall backwards and the barbell would fall on his neck. During the weight lifting, the helper also lost his balance and fell backwards. Channel News Asia reported that Justin tried to lift a 210 kg barbell.
He was immediately admitted to the hospital in critical condition with a broken neck. Emergency surgery was performed but his life might not be saved. Condolences are pouring in for Justin Vicky, who had a huge fan following on social media. He used to work at a gymnasium called Paradise in Bali.
