A seriously injured man was found on Friday night on Brünner Strasse in Floridsdorf: A car driver discovered the motionless 33-year-old at number 133 in the middle of the road, the Vienna State Police Headquarters reported on Saturday.
He alerted the emergency services, several teams from the Vienna professional rescue service provided emergency medical care for the critically injured man and took him to the emergency room of a hospital.
Officers from the Trillergasse Police Inspectorate took up the investigation. So far, however, it is unclear what might have happened to the man.
The 33-year-old is in artificial deep sleep and has not yet been interviewed. According to the attending physician, however, the danger to life has been averted. Any witnesses to the incident have not come forward, the police are asking for information (also anonymously) to the police station Trillergasse on telephone number 31310 ext. 64310.
