A French bus driver “impeccable in her profession” is said to be caught in an administrative maze following being mistakenly confused with a bad driver of the same name, costing her her driving license and her job.
“I am the victim of a terrible injustice. Because of that, I can no longer work,” lamented bus driver from Toulouse in France, Kheira Belamri, to The Dispatch Monday.
It was in May, when the 43-year-old woman applied to become a passenger vehicle driver in order to “make ends meet”, that she was taken from the clouds to discover that she was not no longer held a driving license, following having apparently been repeatedly “flashed” for speeding on the same road in Ariège, regarding a hundred kilometers to the south.
The eight offenses attributed to him occurred in February and May, between midnight and 4 a.m. However, on some of her dates, the driver was transporting passengers to Toulouse-Blagnac airport, her agency would have confirmed to the French media.
“Yes, she was on site with us. This woman is impeccable in her profession. We even wrote her a letter of recommendation because she wants to apply in another region,” the agency said, according to The Dispatch.
Except that following several months, the blunder would still not be resolved, even if according to the prefecture and the gendarmes, the woman would indeed be the victim of an administrative error, the driver would have indicated to the French media.
“I found a woman who has the same first name as me and almost the same last name, except for one letter. And she lives in Ariège. Is she the author of these offenses? How to prove it? Without a license, I’m stuck. I want my points back,” she insisted, according to The Dispatch.
