An inmate from Namur prison, interned in the psychiatric wing of the establishment, attacked a prison officer this Sunday morning. He punched her several times in the face and stabbed her in the shoulder. Injured and shocked, the officer was taken to hospital. He came out at the end of the morning.
In response, the prison staff started a mood swing, which translated concretely into the application of the minimum service throughout the day. The detainees remained in their cells. A new meeting will take place on Monday, other actions are not excluded.
As for the aggressor, the management asked for his transfer to another prison.
