Inmate Escapes During Transfer from Arlon to Lantin Prison: Federal Police and Penitentiary Establishment Report

An inmate from Arlon prison who was to carry out a medical examination at Lantin prison, located in the province of Liège, fled during his transfer on Tuesday followingnoon, reported the federal police and the penitentiary establishment.

The escape occurred around 2:45 p.m. at the entrance to Lantin prison. Several vehicles from the Basse-Meuse police zone are searching for the individual. Neighboring police areas intervened as reinforcements. A federal police helicopter was also deployed.

The Liège public prosecutor’s office had not yet been notified on Tuesday followingnoon. The federal police did not wish to provide further information.
