Obesity is spreading like an epidemic in society, affecting various age groups, including children.

Specialists from Saratov State Medical University (SSMU) have developed an original approach to the treatment of obesity in children, using the technology of electromagnetic influence on brain processes.

A study conducted by the university showed high results from the use of transcranial magnetic therapy (TcMT) in combination with transcranial electrical stimulation (TES). In obese boys, normalization of hormone levels was achieved, including testosterone and β-endorphin.

A decrease in other hormone levels was also noticed, leading to a decrease in appetite and weight.

The problem of obesity is partly due to modern lifestyle with its high glucose consumption and lack of physical activity. Medicine recognizes obesity as a disease that requires changes in diet and lifestyle.

Experts from Saratov believe that changing diet and lifestyle is not enough to solve the problem. They propose introducing hardware methods into the treatment process, such as transcranial magnetic therapy and transcranial electrical stimulation.

This can greatly help in managing appetite and generally normalizing eating behavior.

The non-invasive brain stimulation proposed by scientists is based on the creation of an alternating magnetic field in combination with electrical stimulation using special devices developed jointly with a local Saratov manufacturer.
