Foreign Volunteers Attacked by Jewish settlers in West Bank
Istanbul, Turkey – December 1, 2025 – Foreign volunteers working in the Israeli-occupied West Bank were attacked by Jewish settlers overnight, according to reports from AFP and the Jericho Hospital operated by the Palestinian Authority (PA). The incident, which occurred near Jericho in the central west Bank, has prompted concern from the Italian Foreign ministry.
Four foreign activists – three Italian nationals and one Canadian citizen – were admitted to the Jericho Hospital this morning, sustaining injuries including bruises to their faces, chests, and other body parts. Medical staff conducted x-rays and ultrasound examinations.
The volunteers reported being attacked by approximately ten masked settlers while sleeping at their residence in the Duyuk area.Two of the assailants were armed with guns, while the others wielded clubs.The victims allege they were subjected to a 15-minute assault, including repeated kicks to the face, ribs, and buttocks. Personal belongings, including passports, mobile phones, wallets, and bank cards, were reportedly stolen.
Italy’s Foreign Ministry released a statement expressing deep shock over the attack on its citizens, confirming the theft of their personal belongings. the Italian Consulate General in Jerusalem is actively monitoring the situation and maintaining communication with Palestinian authorities.
