Indian police are investigating a suspected fraudster who allegedly spent nearly two years in a five-star hotel before leaving without paying.

According to local media outlet Indian Express, Ankush Dutta booked for one night on May 30, 2019 at the Roseate House hotel in Delhi and was due to leave the next day, but he ended up staying until January 22, 2021 for a total of 603 nights.

Mr. Dutta would then have left the establishment without paying the bill which amounts to more than 92,000 Canadian dollars.

“The invoice was falsified to hide the amounts due”, can we read the complaint made to the police.

Contacted by Agence France-Presse, the hotel did not want to comment on this affair.
