Residents of a house in the United Kingdom, who were busy cleaning up their property, were stunned to discover a small human skeleton hidden in the bottom of a suitcase in the attic, believed to belong to a baby boy, according to a investigation.

It was last March in a semi-detached house in Stockport, near Manchester, that the remains of the baby were discovered inside a briefcase, hidden in the attic, reported “The Independent” on Thursday.

“The remains are believed to be historic and there is no evidence to suggest that the discovery is linked to another ongoing investigation,” Greater Manchester Police said at the time, according to the British newspaper.

Coroner Alison Mutch’s inquest, formally opened this week, revealed on Thursday that the skeleton is believed to belong to a baby boy, who may have died as early as 1959.

The causes of the baby’s death must still be determined, the British media said, while the investigation is still underway to try to shed light on the old death.
