BANGKOK – A month following the general election in Thailand, the authorities are investigating the election winner and the most promising contender for the post of head of government for possible violations of the electoral law. There was “sufficient information and evidence” to justify investigations into whether Pita Limjaroenrat might run for election, a representative of the electoral commission said on Monday. A special committee should now investigate this.
