EddFest and Continued Touring
The documentary’s release coincides with Iron Maiden’s ongoing ‘Run For Your Lives’ tour. A highlight of the tour will be EddFest, a unique celebration taking place at Knebworth Park on July 11th. Named after the band’s iconic mascot, Eddie, this event marks a return to Knebworth almost two decades after Iron Maiden headlined a similar festival in Bangalore, India.
EddFest promises a full-fledged fan experience, featuring support from The Darkness, The Hu, Airbourne, and The Almighty. Attendees can also look forward to the biggest Eddie’s Dive Bar ever created, alongside Maiden-themed food and specialized stalls. Camping tickets are available, with proceedings officially kicking off on Friday, July 10th. Further ticket information can be found here.
Louder Than Life Festival Appearance
Adding to their busy schedule, Iron Maiden was recently announced as a headliner for the first day of the Louder Than Life festival in Louisville, Kentucky, this September. They will share the stage with other major rock and metal acts, including My Chemical Romance, Tool, and Limp Bizkit.
Director Malcolm Venville spoke about the documentary’s origins, emphasizing the importance of the band’s fanbase. “The journey to make Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition began not with the band, but with the fans,” Venville told MetalTalk. He described the Iron Maiden audience as a “global culture,” noting their dedication to traveling to shows and forming communities around the music.
Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition promises to be more than just a concert film; it’s a deep dive into the legacy of a band that has captivated generations of music lovers. As the band continues to tour and connect with fans worldwide, this documentary offers a compelling look back at the journey that has made Iron Maiden a true icon of heavy metal.
With the release of Burning Ambition and continued tour dates, Iron Maiden shows no signs of slowing down. Fans can anticipate further updates on the band’s activities and future projects in the coming months. What are your expectations for the documentary? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
