“Islamic Cooperation”: The invasion of Rafah may expand the scope of tension in the region

Saudi Arabia – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation condemned “the escalation in the pace of the Israeli aggression once morest the Gaza Strip and its expansion to Rafah,” considering it “a continued perpetration of the crime of genocide once morest the Palestinians.”

It warned of “the danger of the Israeli occupation forces invading the Palestinian city of Rafah, which threatens a humanitarian catastrophe and may lead to expanding the scope of tension and destabilization in the region.”

The organization renewed its call on the international community to assume its responsibilities towards obligating Israel (the occupying power) to stop its military aggression and its continuing crimes throughout the occupied Palestinian territory, and to provide international protection for the Palestinian people, in implementation of the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
