Israel launches airstrikes on Lebanon, Hezbollah fires “over 300 rockets” at Israel

Hezbollah disputes that claim. Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the militia, did so again this afternoon in a televised speech. He spoke of “false claims” and said that Hezbollah could have carried out its attack “as planned.”

Nasrallah gave more details about Hezbollah’s attack. He said the militia first fired 340 rockets at military targets in Israel and the occupied Golan Heights. Drones were then launched, from southern Lebanon, but for the first time also from the Bekaa Valley in the east of the country, on the border with Syria.

Nasrallah also said that Hezbollah will assess the impact of its attack before deciding whether to carry out further attacks.
